Ever relevant and impeccably worthy. Mr. Dorfman is among the most politically engaged playwrights and novelists of the last few decades....charged, often harrowing.

Heartbreaking and tragic, the play is a poignant reminder of the atrocities that often go unnoticed in the world. Director Hal Brooks has done an expert job with a strong 18-member cast in this Reverie Productions show.

Dorfman and the folks at Reverie want this, I think, to be a call to action. Complacencytaking ideas like justice and mercy for grantedis dangerous. It's usefulessential!to be shaken up a bit by as powerfully disturbing a drama as this one.

For a political play, Widows digs remarkably deep...Hal Brooks directs the play like a river itself...The action flows quickly from scene to scene, bubbling up every now and then into a most magnificent Greek chorus of rapids, a babble of insistent voices that break our hearts upon the rocks.
